How Audio Books Can Help Engage Your Children In Their Learning
It is always a challenge to get children to sit down quietly and read a book, especially kids who are just beginning to read or those who have difficulty in reading, audio books is a good way to integrate fun and interaction in learning.
Parents can now have an easier time in teaching their kids with audio books.
Educational experts have agreed that books with narration are easier for kids to absorb and remember. Kids enjoy story telling and could remember stories if they heard it from someone.
Many schools have now taken audio books not just to the homes of their students but also in the classrooms.
Here is how audio books can help engage children in their learning
1. Parents can have an ease of mind when they send their kids to school. Kids will no longer be crying their way to school. With audio books, children will enjoy going to school as audio books provide interesting books that arouse children?s interest and attention. Children tend to be more attentive if there is a third party talking and speaking to them. With narration and sound effects, it is sure to get children to remember information better.
2. Audio books can make learning more entertaining than conventional teaching. Your children will be excited and keen to learn more from exciting audio books.
3. Using audio books to teach kids in school allows teachers to have more time in planning more well-thought and interesting programs and teaching materials for your children
4. Children with reading difficulties can listen and follow the books simultaneously. This could promote their interest in reading and allow them to learn as they listen. Most importantly, popular stories that children love, will be very interesting for them to listen to.
5. Audio books save money for the parents and storage space for the school as teachers don?t have to buy and store up tons of books for a classroom, just one audio book can be played for all the students in the classroom.
6. Children don't particularly like printed books as much as they do audio books. It feels much more comfortable for them to "listen" to an audio book than "read" a book.
7. Audio books can also help children deal with the pronunciation of certain words that they would have difficulty with when merely reading them. By hearing the pronunciation and seeing it printed, they are able to remember and pronounce it better.
No wonder, audiobooks is getting more popular among parents and teachers. They can easily assess children books at the popular audio bookstore like Merlion Audio Bookstore for a wide collection the all time classic stories such as Alice in Wonderland,Hans Christian Henderson?s Fairy Tales, a wide collections of Chronicles of Narnia and a series of fairy tales such as the Three Little Pigs, Tom Thumb, Goldilocks, The Emporer's New Clothes, Hansel & Gretel and many more.

Carved Art LED Night Light, Rose or Moon,-Styles May Vary
Carved Art LED Night Light, Rose or Moon,-Styles May Vary
Customer Review: This has a very pleasing look to it.
When you look at the soft blue light of the crystal moon in this light you will hardly be able to stay awake! It is a very soothing image to behold. I wish it had a auto-shutoff for morning light, but I knew it didn't have this when I bought it. I have read in consumer news that lights light this can run 24/7 for 20 cents a YEAR, and the light is supposedly garanteed for a zillion hours but I don't know how you would collect on that seriously. If you only plugged it in at night it should last for 5 years although I can't attest to this for this particular one.
If you don't want a real bright glaring night light, this is for you. If you want a room partially lit so you can see where your going at night, you might want to select something brighter. In fact I think I am going to order some of the ones that Amazon customers complained about being too bright; but this one is a keeper for my bedroom!

"Megabrite LED Dimmable Color Changing Night Light "
Amazon Item: B000M3LKX6
As it costs about the same.
I have the Megabrite and have not tried this one (either moon or rose), but I have to say that children love the changing colors and it gives them something to watch as sleep overtakes them. Once they are asleep I move something to block direct view of the nitelite because it can be bright as it shifts color. The ambiant light around the blocked item is still more than enough to keep them company if they wake at night. Note: it has a single button that stops the color shifting at any color and brightness you choose...but you need to unplug/replug it on to get the light shifting to start up again. (no light sensor so it is always on too).
Since I don't own the above (and I won't since I cannot choose the moon or rose specifically), I will give this item 4 stars as that seems to be the common opinion of it.

National Treasure 2 - Book of Secrets (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
National Treasure 2 - Book of Secrets (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage) sets out to find the lost 18 pages from the diary of Abraham Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth. One of the 18 missing pages has been discovered by Jeb Wilkinson (Ed Harris). On that page are the names of the Lincoln assassination conspirators. Thomas Gates, Ben Gates' great-great-grandfather, is listed on the page. After discovering this, Ben does not want Thomas Gates to be remembered "as a conspirator in the assassination of the man who brought this nation together." His quest to clear his family's name leads to unexpected twists and turns. Agent Sadusky (Harvey Keitel) tells Ben that a secret book has the information he needs. The president's "book of secrets" holds documents, for presidents' eyes only, of all the nations secrets; from the truth behind the JFK conspiracy, the missing minutes from the Watergate tapes, and Area 51. When Ben's request to see the book is denied, he says he must kidnap the president. Each clue leads him closer "to a discovery that the world isn't ready to believe."
Customer Review: Still Fun, But Not as Exciting
While delivering a presentation about his great-grandfather, Thomas Gates (Joel Gretsch) and his relationship to John Wilkes Booth and attempt to stop the assassination of President Lincoln, Ben Gates (Nicholas Cage) is challenged by a man, Mitch Wilkinson (Ed Harris), who claims to have a missing page from John Wilkes Booth's diary that suggests that Thomas Gates was actually one of the ring-leaders of Lincoln's assassination. In an attempt to prove his great-grandfather's innocence, Ben, Abigail (Diane Kruger), and Riley (Justin Bartha) begain a globetrotting adventure that takes them from Buckingham Palace to the Oval Office in the White House. Their journey ultimately leads Ben to "kidnapping" the President of the United States (Bruce Greenwood) and a perilous journey inside Mount Rushmore.
NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS is a fairly average action-adventure movie. Like the original movie, BOOK OF SECRETS boasts a decent mixture of actual history with tons of conspiracy theories to bolster an otherwise lackluster plot. However, there really isn't as much action as there was in the first movie. Things have been watered down, including the "villain", Mitch Wilkinson (Ed Harris). Harris' talents (as well as those of Jon Voight, Harvey Keitel, and Helen Mirren) are completely wasted in the movie, but so is his character. Wilkinson is intended to be an evil foil to Benjamin Gates, but instead by the end of the movie comes off as being a completely sympathetic person that was just trying to clear his family's name just like Ben is doing.
The strongest thing about the movie is the characters. It is true that Benjamin Gates and Riley Poole and the rest of the cast are basically cardboard figures. However, they are cardboard characters that the audience actually cares about, even without ever having seen NATIONAL TREASURE. Abigail is beautiful and throughout the movie the audience roots that the adventure will bring her and Ben back together; Riley Poole is adorable and the audience keeps hoping he will end up with a fraction of the success that Ben has; etc.
Overall, though NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS isn't a great action-adventure movie and at times struggles to build excitement, it is a decent yarn involving some lovable characters.
Customer Review: Great movie!
National Treasure 2 is one of my favorite movies. It has a perfect balance of action, story, and humor. I also really like all the historical details that were added in.
The only thing I didn't like about it (and this is a very minor flaw to the movie) is that Ben Gates extols Abraham Lincoln, calling him one of his favorite presidents. I am NOT racist by any stretch of the imagination, but I don't think the "Civil" war was fought solely over the issue of slavery. I think history shows us that Lincoln had an agenda to bring about a highly-centralized form of government that few of our founding fathers had. (On this topic, I would recommend "The War between the States: America's Uncivil War.) You can leave a comment on this review if you disagree with me and I'll try to answer your objections to the best of my ability.
Despite this, I give this movie five stars. I think this movie is comparable with the first National Treasure (see my review on that movie for more details).

Customer Review: Sounds like a bad night on American Idol
I've bought several of Celine's albums but I was disappointed with this one. It really lacks the enthusiasm of the others. The remake of Heart's alone will have you wanting to take out Celine and put the real thing in...it just doesn't work. The other songs were dull and forgettable.
If you are a fan of a new day has come, this is very different, and you will likely be disappointed, and may enjoy some of her older albums over this one.
Customer Review: for Celine fans only
enjoy Celine's voice but this cd was disappointing. luv the title song "Taking Chances" ~ one of her best. was hoping the rest of the songs would be just as good. sadly, not so. read where she was trying for a 'new'sound. well, she accomplished THAT. too bad it wasn't a good sound. die-hard fans will like this, I'm sure. me? not so much.
