Writing about publishing book was indeed a spontaneous decision on my part. I solemnly hope that this was a wise decision that I had made.

Get The Facts Before Marketing Your Self Published Books
This article will provide you with book marketing, promotion and publicity tips to get you headed in the right direction. Ensuring the success of any book is something even the biggest publishers have never been able to guarantee, but with a good book, a little or a lot of money, and just plain hard work the odds are in your favor; many have done it. You can have the best book in the world, but if no one knows about it, no one will buy it; publicity, promotion, marketing and a focus on selling more books should now be a big part of your daily life.
When picked up by wire services, a press release can easily end up generating hundreds of mentions for your book. Press releases can generate thousands of dollars in sales when picked up by national trade or print media. Make sure your press release spells out the 'who, what, where, when, and why.'
Your book press release should not be written as you would a sales letter or flier, it should be written for the editor and tell about your book in a factual way, no opinion or glowing remarks. Invest in press release submitting software and set aside time every week to send out a press release online to the press directories. Using press releases for marketing or promoting your book or book's website has become increasingly popular as publishers discover the powerful benefits of using press releases.
Mail a press release to at least 1000 print and broadcast contacts just prior to publishing your title and again and again after you publish; you can never send too many. Using press releases can be a very effective marketing tool if used properly.
If your book fits a specialty market, find a store that fits the genre and offer to leave books on consignment; many publishers have sold thousands of books this way. When you get a nice write up or feature about you and/or your book, have it laminated and set it up on an easel at trade shows. Get as many testimonials about your book, as possible, from experts in the field relating to your title, not customers; use on your fliers and back of books.
Make five telephone calls a day that relate to marketing your book. Offer to trade writing a monthly column in a trade publication in your books' genre, in trade for display ads on the same page. Contact any companies, corporations or organizations that might use your book for promotions; offer significant discounts for volume orders or for thousands of copies offer a specified amount above book production costs.
Arrange to speak at local, regional and national events that relate to your book topic; bring books along and have an associate sell them at the back of the room. Build a web site that provides another avenue for ordering, a virtual online press kit and link exchanges with sites that relate to your topic. It's important to publish a website that focuses on your title; you'll be able to refer editors and customers and all interested parties to your book information with the click of a mouse.
Market your book to your number one market first, and then go after the secondary markets. Submit articles to online article directories that focus on your book's topic to drive customers to your website. I've seen publishers lose a lot of money paying for expensive display ads, so beware if you do this; I don't advise it in the beginning -- get your feet wet first so you know what you're doing.
Your sales letter or flier should include an eye-grabbing headline, the benefits to the buyer, the book features, book sales information and testimonials. Women buy more books then men; see how you can fit your book into the women's' market.
Create an online contest and list it in online contest directories to drive traffic to your website. Find a non-exclusive distributor with a good reputation to carry your book for the book store trade, as well as for other retailers.
Use your book promotion and book marketing dollars wisely; go after the free and cheap resources daily. I hope this article has provided you with helpful tips to accelerate your book marketing and book promotion efforts. If you apply yourself every day and you promote your book like crazy, you can achieve that ultimate goal of selling thousands of copies of your book, many self publishers have.

Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham
Children learn word recognition when they read along with Sam and click up to 20 "hot spots" on each page. Green Eggs and Ham includes a new Wacky Food Concentration Game and much more!
Customer Review: Simple animations provides alot of excitement for the little ones!
Both my kids enjoys this CD-ROM. Green eggs and ham may not be your idea of a tasty treat, but this CD-ROM serves up an appetizing Seuss in a well-done interactive storybook. This delightful software from Living Books is meticulously animated with hundreds of sketches, new scenes, surprises, and activities. Your child directs the action with just a click of the mouse. And littler ones can choose the Read-to-Me mode! Children will build important skills while playing games such as Mouse in a House, the Wacky Food Concentration Game, and the Silly Rhyming Sentence Machine.
This CD consists on clear, bright images that are nearly identical to the original book illustrations, with the simple animations providing new excitement as the story builds to its "surprising" climax.
With Dr. Seuss's excellent combination of phonics and word repetition, your children will receive a great introduction to crucial early-reading skills, making this CD a solid addition to an educational software library. Believe Me.
Customer Review: wow, what fun
I can only say that our 4 and 2 year olds love hearing the story of green eggs and ham. being able to play along makes this so much fun for them! they love it! definately worth the money, in fact i have ordered more similar items so they can try them.

Subaru Legacy, 1990-1999: Includes Legacy Outback and Legacy Brighton (Haynes Manuals)
All Subaru Legacy models, including Legacy Outback and Legacy Brighton (90 - 98) Haynes offers the best coverage for cars, trucks, vans and SUVs in the market today. Each manual is written and photographed from "hands-on" experience gained by a complete teardown and rebuild of the vehicle. The first Haynes manual was written this way 40 years ago, and all the manuals continue to be produced this way, making Haynes the world leader in automotive repair information.
Customer Review: Beginner handbook
I have not done as much work as I might have liked, so I have opened the book relatively little. In what little I have used it, it has been more reassuring than helpful--for instance, the book confirmed that the rear hatch lifter supports come without the entire ball-joint assembly, and that there is little one can do about this. Not really helpful, but reassuring for someone who wonders what is going on.
I consider the book satisfactory for its purposes, and I am glad I own it.
Customer Review: Haynes manuals explain best!
In my opinion, short of an actual manufacturer's shop manual, you can't beat a Haynes book for completeness. And, given that they are written for the non-professional, in some ways they are far superior. Based on complete engine tear-down and rebuild, and covering standard repairs and maintainence, I never buy anything else.
If you are even reasonably handy, like to save money on basic (or even complex) repairs, this is the book for you.
A Thousand Splendid Suns
A Thousand Splendid Suns
After 103 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and with four million copies of The Kite Runner shipped, Khaled Hosseini returns with a beautiful, riveting, and haunting novel that confirms his place as one of the most important literary writers today.
Propelled by the same superb instinct for storytelling that made The Kite Runner a beloved classic, A Thousand Splendid Suns is at once an incredible chronicle of thirty years of Afghan history and a deeply moving story of family, friendship, faith, and the salvation to be found in love.
Born a generation apart and with very different ideas about love and family, Mariam and Laila are two women brought jarringly together by war, by loss and by fate. As they endure the ever escalating dangers around them-in their home as well as in the streets of Kabul-they come to form a bond that makes them both sisters and mother-daughter to each other, and that will ultimately alter the course not just of their own lives but of the next generation. With heart-wrenching power and suspense, Hosseini shows how a woman's love for her family can move her to shocking and heroic acts of self-sacrifice, and that in the end it is love, or even the memory of love, that is often the key to survival.
A stunning accomplishment, A Thousand Splendid Suns is a haunting, heartbreaking, compelling story of an unforgiving time, an unlikely friendship, and an indestructible love.
Customer Review: Lightning Strikes Twice
After finishing The Kite Runner, I yearned for more. But when I saw A Thousand Splendid Suns and read the jacket, I feared that Hosseini had merely re-dressed his first novel, literally. While the two share the author's authentic style, they could not differ any more. While The Kite Runner focused on two male childhood friends, this one delved more into the intertwining of two women's lives due to the religious aspects of the Muslim culture while forcing the reader to face the misogynistic tendencies. Hosseini not only entertains us with another page turner, but educates as well, about a world that remains a secret to most of us. Thousands have read this insightful work; now that we have, to whom will we abdicate our knowledge of what we have learned?
Customer Review: Great without being addictive
Like "Kite Runner," this novel deals with love and hope in the face of fear, desperation, sadness and loss. Hosseini crafts characters which are genuine and complex behind a facade of simplicity, and I found I could identify with some part or portion of almost all of them. The story really drains you by spanning generations and lifetimes. In this way, it made me feel like I had gone on the journey with these two women, and had been beaten down and raised up emotionally alongside them.
The story and characters definitely kept me intrigued, but I didn't feel that addictiveness I feel with really fantastic books. I didn't get that sense that I had to be late to work or stay up late into the night to finish another chapter, and I think that says something about the novel: that while it is definitely an incredible story, something about it lacked urgency. Maybe that's simply because it did span so many years, I felt like I had a whole lifetime to read it.
Still, Hosseini has crafted a remarkable story and I look forward to what he comes up with next.

The Aristocats (Special Edition)
This enchanting tale begins in Paris, when a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to her family a family of adorable high-society cats. But when Edgar, the greedy butler, overhears her plan, he catnaps Duchess, the elegant, soft-spoken mother, and her three mischievous kittens and abandons them in the French countryside. Soon, they re being escorted home by the charming Thomas O Malley, a rough-and-tumble alley cat, who takes them to his pad along the way, where Scat Cat and his band of swingin jazz cats perform the memorable Ev rybody Wants To Be A Cat. Enriched by highstyle Disney animation (The New Yorker) and toe-tapping music by Academy Award® winning songwriters the Sherman brothers, The Aristocats is a timeless treasure and the last animated feature to get the nod from Walt Disney himself.
Customer Review: Aristocats
We had the old VHS version and had been waiting for Disney to release a DVD version. Somehow we missed it so we were super glad that Amazon had a brand new copy for sale. This has been a family favorite for years and we really missed owning a copy. We're very happy with our purchase.
Customer Review: BEST IMAGE SHORT OF TRUE HI-DEF!
Nostalgic artists' views of pre-WWI Paris and the French countryside are the backdrop for this sweet Disney classic. The colors and crispness of image on this DVD are truly amazing. I would love to see this movie on Blu-Ray. It is hard to imagine this film looked much better in the theater. The story is the tried and true Disney formula of separation and struggle to be reunited. Innocent enough for the youngest kids, this movie has plenty to offer their parents. It is a shame there aren't six stars for a film like this. The DVD also lets you isolate the songs and skip everything else. It's like buying a separate soundtrack disc but with full animation. I'd like to see this feature on ALL musical movie DVD's.

Jersey Boys (2005 Original Broadway Cast Recording)
Recounting the rich history and reliving the timeless sounds of the phenomenal Frankie Vallie & The 4 Seasons, the new Broadway musical Jersey Boys answers the musical-and philosophical question, "How did four would-be wise guys from Newark, NJ, become one of the greatest chart-topping successes in pop music history?" Jersey Boys celebrates legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi who, as the 4 seasons, wrote their own songs, invented their own identity, and sold 175 million records worldwide-all before they were 30.
